| Dark_Lord102007-25-06, 05:17 PM | Well, i was just wondering the following: Can you re-use Charater sheets, as in use them in multiple games and level up on the SAME sheet? What do i need to play BESIDES the 3 core rulebooks (Ive ordered the 3rd editions, but havent recieved them yet), character sheets and dice? well, thats all i have for now. Any help would be appreciated. :D |
| savant_warlord1307-25-06, 05:26 PM | You can reuse character sheets if you use pencil, but they wear out eventually. I hope you ordered version 3.5 core rulebooks. You need nothing else, but additional material can be found in other books. |
| Dark_Lord102007-25-06, 05:59 PM | Well, actually, im a cheap ass gamer, so i ordered the 3rd edition, and thanks for the info in the last reply :D |
| Lucan_Desmond07-25-06, 07:34 PM | Well you shouldn't be THAT cheap since you're really going to need to upgrade to 3.5 eventually. So you just wasted a little money. Really, 3.5 is worth the extra... it's MUCH better. Aside from the books, sheets and dice however, you don't NEED anything else. You CAN ADD more, but it isn't needed. Enjoy! Des |

Really, 3.5 is worth the extra... it's MUCH better. I'm a 3.5er, but I'm not about to say 3.0 is a waste. There are still plenty of people out there that play 3.0. There is no "need" to update. However, I do recommend downloading the SRD and reading it over, because there have been a few minor (and a few major) changes in the "revision". Look it over and decide which works best for you. |

Which, by the way, can be found here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/charactersheets). You can also find some excellent "third-party" character sheets at Ema's Homepage (http://www.emass-web.com/), or at Mad Irishman Productions (http://www.unc.edu/~murphy/mad_irishman/index.html) |

I'm not even sure you can call 3.5 a new edition, but more like super-errata. There is basically no logical argument for any part of 3.0 being superior to 3.5. But 3.0 is far from a terrible decision if you are strapped for cash. It is hardly a pain at all if you play rather than DM, which means you are already familiar with all fundamental rules and you just refer to your friend's 3.5 PHB when creating characters. |
| Lord_Bahamut07-26-06, 01:11 AM | My advice is to make a barbarian character, get Complete Warrior, and **** everyone off by playing the kill-everything-moving-in-sight Prestige Class, the Frenzied Berserker. Then run away as your players chase you throwing pop cans and books with spiky corners at your head (since your FB is now the only thing left living) while you do the Matrix dodge. |
