ok, im plannin on havin some dragons in my next campaign and i got a couple questions about them bein in human form.

how should i go about making their physical attributes for the humanoid creature that they change into. obviously their mental stats wouldnt chage, but what about the str, dex and con. it wouldnt stay the same for their dragon shapes, so any sugestions? just roll or em?

alos, what about physical type feats? like a feat giving a dragon a bonus to his breathe weapon wouldnt benefit him if he was in human form, but what about power attack? basically shoudl they carry over to the human form?

thx for the help

1. You are right about mental stats. They stay the same. As for physical stats, make them normal for the humanoid whose form they are taking. The dragon may have a normal Constitution and Strength, but he still has his normal Saving throws and hit points (adjusted by the change in Con bonus).

2. Don't change the Feats. Let the dragon keep the same Feats in both forms. If the dragons have taken class levels along the way, flesh them out based on the objectives of the dragon. If the dragon spends a lot of time in humanoid form, then perhaps the dragon did select a feat of two that would have greater benefit in that form.

In general, I would have the dragon rely less on Feats and more on magic and skills, in either form.

Judging from these questions, it sounds like you have a great campaign brewing!

As Seeker said, the mental stats wont change, but the physical stats will take on the normal array of 10,10,10 for a human, or 10,12,8 for an elf (or is it 10,12,9?).
If the dragon keeps the abilities it can use in dragon form when it takes human shape, it can use the feats associated with them. For example, Improved Natural Armour feats would be useless in human form because humans have no natural armour. So, since (IIRC) it cant use its breathweapon in human form, it can't use metabreath feats. More general feats, for example Power Attack, Whirlwind Attack, Combat Expertise etc will work as normal in human form.
