One of my friends is attempting to make a saint with the vow of poverty. However, he and everyone else I know are having trouble coming up with the sacrifice that needs to be made to get it. Anyone have any ideas....

The short version of his background is this......hes a human cleric who gave up his title and wealth at the beginning of his life when his family was murdered by undead. Thanks in advance for any ideas generated here!

Lets just say you gave up your right to become a hero the moment you decided to become one. ;)

What is that supposed to mean?

Basically, runestar is expressing the idea that deliberately going out to achieve sainthood shows a level of greed or desire for personal advancement that's not compatible with the exaltation need to be a saint.

The player may be aiming for saint, doesn't mean the character is.

I think at this point, given that he's given up so much already, he has to give something more personal to count as devotion to sainthood.

Is there and NPC they like, either as a friend of love interest? Giving up thier ability to ever communicate with them may be an appropros and RP ready sacrifice.

Vow of Poverty with a Cleric? I guess it's possible, though the best choice to make a VoP Character is definitely a monk.

What diety is the cleric beholden to?
