By the time they reach middle age, they're as vulnerable as an 80 year old. You know those flus that people say are dangerous to children and the elderly? Those'll be deadly to all elves. And their kids and elderly will fall like so much chaff. Sure, they might be capable of living 1000 years. But the chances of them dying of old age, due to their innate frailty, is going to be much, much less than that of a human.

Now, so far (me included) we have all assumed that you meant a song to play in real life during a gaming session. Is that correct, or did you mean an actual elvish song that has been mentioned somewhere that you could describe being sung? If it's the latter, sorry for our confusion. The most obvious place to look would be The Lord of the Rings Books, and probably even better would be The Silmarillon. Hope that helps.
Stardrake 01-19-05, 08:53 PM	If you can find a copy of POEMS AND SONGS OF MIDDLE-EARTH (an old LP on the Caedmon label) there is a setting of Namarie from THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING sung by one William Elvin (no, really!). Since this is a song of farewell, it might be very apropos. (It's a very nice arrangement--the tune was actually hummed to composer Donald Swann by Prof. Tolkien himself!) Amazon lists it as out of print, but it's worth looking for.

Calendinedhel 01-20-05, 01:40 AM	The Battle of Evermore by Led Zeppelin This song is totally perfect, it is truly an epic song, with enough Lord of The Rings references to give it heaps of depth, and with inspiring lyrics, some of which would apply to elves, such as "sing as you raise your bow, shoot straighter than before". Plus the rest of the lyrics are about epic battles between good and evil, which would be perfect for a PC. BTW this is one of my favourite songs :D
Kalanth 01-20-05, 02:20 AM	Here is another one, can't really remember the name right now but it can be found with little trouble through an MP3 search. The full orchestral rendition of the song they played in Final Fantasy 7, when Aerith dies and is put into the lake. They put out an after production CD with all the songs remastered and done up with the orchestra. Actually, if you find that entire CD, there are tons of great songs on there for D&D.
