He gets to a bridge, and there's an evil knight challenging all comers to joust. He's got a tent across the river, and hanging from a tree in front of the tent are the shields of all the knights he's bested (who are either dead, or tied up inside the tent waiting to be killed or ransomed). The intrepid knight errant jousts with the evil knight, wins, and releases the prisoners. The evil knight repents of his ways, travels to Camelot, becomes a Knight of the Round Table, and sets out on his own quest looking for trouble...I mean adventure! With a whole party of good knight PCs, just have a small group of evil knights guarding the bridge. Or have one knight 2-3 levels higher, and each PC gets to joust him in succession. If the PCs beat the knights, they find clues that lead them to an actual adventure in the tent. If they get beaten, they're now prisoners and have to escape. |
