TheChilliGod 04-20-07, 04:13 AM	You need to earn the right to a custom avatar, whether by winning something at a convention such as UnCon (as Romtos said, it's the easiest way towards a custom avvy), or by performing some hugely awesome service to the boards as a whole (Don't know if that's really possible anymore...). But until then, you can't use custom avatars here at all, sorry.

Zherog 04-21-07, 03:02 PM	The only "convention" where you can win a custom avatar is "UnCon" - which stands for Unconventional Convention. It runs on the forums sometime in late summer or early fall. Contests run by the WizO staff during that time will often award custom avatars as prizes.
