NecroticBanana 01-13-07, 08:05 PM	Your spending another boring saturday night browsing your favorite gaming forums, when suddenly a flash of light blinds you, when you're eyes finally adjust you see what appears to be a shimmiring portal to another world in your bedroom, as you peak thru this portal you see a vast forest to your left catching a glimpse of a group of orcs being chased by a herd of unicorns, to your right is a sprawling city surrounding a castle. Your phone doesnt work, and your door and windows wont open, you decide to go through, but think that you better bring some stuff for the trip, you look about the room your in....what do you take?! p.s. just for grins

Swiss army knife (dagger, tools, etc.) Swiss army wristwatch (to tell how many days I've spent in this crazy place) Backpack (for carrying junk) Clothes (2 pair jeans, socks, shirts, warm shirts, jacket, etc.) Leather Jacket (+1 AC according to d20 Modern) Empty Zippo (in case I need to make a spark, for some reason) Aluminum baseball bat (in case I need to bash some skulls) Chapstick (it's small and prevents chapped lips!) Paper, Binder, pens, pencils Deodorant (wouldn't wanna be too stinky)

Edymnion 01-13-07, 08:23 PM	*looks at his wall-o-weapons* Dude, I have a dozen swords, a spear, a halbred, a mace, my bow and arrows, two kukris, a scramasax, a battleaxe, my quarterstaff with the wire wrapped ends, more daggers than I know what to do with, a chainmail shirt, and somewhere around here I've got a pile of hardened leather I'm going to make into a suit of leather armor, when I get the time. If a portal to a D&D world suddenly opened up, by god, I'd be ready to set up my own kingdom through might of arms. That said, I'd grab: By bow and quiver. Its an antique recurve longbow that can easily throw an arrow through plywood at 50 paces. Hanging next to it is my quiver with 20 aluminum shafted arrows, and another dozen or so underneath that. I would be stupid not to take that. Then, it would be the scramasax, which is high carbon steel and a proven design for both utility and fighting. It was essentially the viking utility knife, as it could do anything. The chain shirt is a no brainer. If I took any of the swords, it would be to sell them for coin on the other side, as I know I can't use one properly. The bow and daggers on the other hand, that I could do. I'd grab my wool cloak from the closet, the big bag of rice from the kitchen (along with my camping mess kit), and all the spices from the cupboards, the BiC lighters out of my desk drawer (I don't smoke, I just like being able to make fire), and all of the drinking glasses, leave a note for the loved ones, and off I go!

The diseases they had at any point in history to which I have never developed antibodies will kill me if the first stranger I meet does not.

DemonDavyJones 01-14-07, 12:25 PM	Currently I'm in a room with my friend... *looks around* we would take some clothes, a swiss army knife each, a lighter (no one smokes, it's very useful) it's a basement and there's duct tape... WD-40, digital camera, batteries, can of red bull each, his short sword (for me!) and his paintball gun (for him) as well as tons 'o paintballs. Also, a heavy coat that separates into a windbreaker and a jacket for me, and a varsity sports coat for him. My blood red D20 (served me well in alternate universes) backpacks for all this crap, powerbars, flashlight, laser pointer (blinding and long-range first-degree burns!) and glasses (I'd run out of contacts eventually). Finally, there's an air vent to outside, and you never said anything about vents being stuck, so we'd go get another friend of ours, and his bow and arrows, and of course he'd bring necessities as well, and then we'd go to my house and get my snake (just because), and last but not least the three leather jackets from his house (+1 AC!) (I don't know why he owns so many leather jackets). EDIT: And, of course, my GF, her pepper spray, dog, some fireworks, and a fourth leather jacket (how many does that guy need, anyway?) So, on to conquering!
