Khazra 01-18-04, 07:43 AM	Do modifiers for Strength match well? I was figuring out my characters maximum load in the heavy load section and while comparing it to the extra damage he does with his attacks due to Strength i was confused. My character is quite extreme (112 str) and as such he can lift 734,003200lbs:smirk:. But when he attacks with his two-handed weapon he only adds adds 51 to his damage roll. Surely that cannot be right. Ive checked my figures and my calculations are correct.
q'afuu 01-18-04, 07:59 AM	Two-handed weapons get 1.5*Str mod to damage. 51*1.5=76 (rounded down).
Khazra 01-18-04, 12:52 PM	Oh...., yeah. Thats probaly what was wrong. But considering how much he can lift above his head (which probaly includes mountains, castles, mountains with castles on them etc.), u would think he would be a bit better for damage. Still, i can always use power attack 20 and still hit quite comfortably.

sandskimmer 01-18-04, 01:39 PM	If your DM uses the massive damage rules, your str bonus alone will instantly kill most everything. Besides, for game balance issues, do you really need to do more damage, especially with power attacking? Just because you can lift castles above your head, doesn't mean you should be able to do an equivalent amount of damage with each hit - nothing would ever survive your first hit, not to mention the ensueing iteritive attacks... If it's really a problem for you, start throwing those castles at your opponents - I'm sure they'll do alot more damage...

You can lift and stagger around with twice that (183,500,800 lb). You need a Str of 119 or more for the loads you posted. Bw, that staggering load corresponds to about 821,000 cubic ft. of granite. That's less than a cube with 100 ft. sides. Not much of a mountain. Probably not even enough for a castle.
