A simple and yet needed question. [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-27-05, 02:07 AM Races of Eberron and Lords of Madness, do they worth my cash ? Despite being damn happy of seeing at long last, the Ulitharid, The Vampiric Illithid and The Alhoon, I do really wonder if these two books worth the money.

I don't play in Ebberron, but I think I can still help here.

There are what three books in Ebberron out at the moment? So if you are running a game in Ebberron right now, and you need more information about the setting, then yeah... this book would be worth it.

Bottom line, if you are going to use it, then it is worth it.

04-27-05, 03:19 AM Well yes thrs Races of Eberron, Eberron Campaign Setting, and Sharn City of Towers so far. I already have,the ECS, but i'm curious as how 'Races' of Eberron is gonna be useful to me. And yes I plan to use Eberron in my campaign.

Is it a ripoff? Yeah. But it's still got plenty of good stuff in it.

And Lords of Madness?

Are you wanting to use any of the creatures in it in your campaign? If yes, then it is SOLID GOLD. If not, then don't bother, it'll gather dust.

(Or if you're running an Eberron campaign.)

Lords of Madness? Definitely a good supplement if you wish to expand your Aberration flavor.

*[Just ignore when LoM says the illithid empire was 2000 years before the present since that conflicts with every previous history of the Mind Flayers and the Gith races. We figure it's a typo and they meant 20,000, but even then it's stretching it.]

I can't speak for Races of Ebberon since I don't use the setting and don't plan on buying any of its books anytime soon.
