| The Ubbergeek03-07-04, 10:11 PM | A question about ministers of all faiths. I always wondered,we players of D&D have all heard of 'hardcore' Protestant preachers making sermons on our favorite game and saw the Chick papers, but what about other faiths clergy/ministry? The Wiccans and other Pagans dislike the portrayals of the 'pagan' pantheons, and some Muslims (was them?) were displeased by the name of the Arabian World - Al-Quadim. What about the Jews, the Hindus, etc? Had a story to tell? Are you a believer of those faiths? Any religious/spiritual beef on D&D or other general RPGs? Just a n00b curiosity. |

It's a game of fantasy and fiction and you can use the freedom given to you by the rules for good and for bad. In my country, the Netherlands, we don't have any problems of religious groups that look at D&D as a peagan game. Conclusion of all this wabbering: Whey're all old and wise enough to decide for our selves, and if some people want to mis-use the freedom given us with the D&D rules there's nothing to do about it, but every selfrespecting player would keep D&D and his relgion seperated. That's my opinion :) |

This is a board for the discussion of Dungeons and Dragons and the rules of the game. The problem is that strong beliefs are deeply instilled with people when it comes to religion and politics, and thus these type of posts really just leads to flame wars because a person takes offense due to their strong beliefs. Hence the reason why it isn't allowed. |
