Ability Penalty and Damage [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-06-07, 07:36 AM Hi, just wondering how ability penalties and ability damages affect each other, and how they stack or overlap. I had already tried looking at the Rules of the Game on this site, but it didn't have it, and I don't feel like digging in my PHB to find the answer (which I normally would've done on any other normal day). Please and Thank You.

07-06-07, 08:23 AM Penalties "stack" like bonuses. Same type and same source rules apply.
Ability Damage is just like hit points. Add it up.
