| reese04-21-05, 06:06 PM | why can't you boost them without leveling up and enchantments? i mean in real life people can get much stronger by working out so why can't the characters if they spend the time? maybe an hour each day while everyone prepares their spells can't the fighter do push ups and practice manuevers or whatever to try and boost his scores? i don't know how realistic it might be but it doesn't seem fair that my sorcerer puts all his bonus attribute points from leveling up in Cha, when he could practice with the fighter to try and improve his str/con for a while each day if he wanted. this wouldn't be instantaneous or anything, say a month or two game time for 1 point to 1 attribute, with a maximum of 2 points allowable to be gained to each attribute in this fashion. maybe... |

For instance, you could say that every time a character goes swimming, he gets 1/50th of a Str point (meaning it will take fifty days of swimming to get +1 to Str). Reading could increase Int, Dancing could increase Dex, composing or meditating could increase Wis, and so forth. You could then implement restrictions in how many activities could be committed to each day by one character (you can't practice fencing if you are too tired from swimming). But it's just an idea. |
