(First off, I may have this in the wrong area. Although I'm quite sure I don't...)

Alright so me and my friends have a lot of fun playing D&D but we get kind of bored playing in a dungeon all the time. So I would like to know where I would get a new kind of battle grid (Something like a forest, town, cave, etc.) or must I create a new one by hand. If I do is there a book I should get to make one, and what is the book named? I am kind of hoping there is a forest battle grid thing or something so I don't have to use 2 hours to make one...

We just use a blank grid, and dry-erase markers.
Can easily be anything you want, and it doesn't have to take 2 hours. Dammit, Jim, I'm a DM, not an artist! ;)

There are software programs like DungeonCrafter and Dundjinni which can create battle grids (you could also use most paint or draw programs). There are also many premade PDF products which can be printed out and used. These can be found in the 2-D Buildings/Terrain section of RPGNow (.com, look in the categories sidebar on the left). There are also some websites with free downloads of tiles which can be printed out and used.

Thank you.

Too bad most sites have those really little squares as the spaces. I prefer 1x1 inch squares, taking me forever to do this one board though. :(
