| Justin_Belmont08-18-05, 11:39 PM | I'm a noob at 3rd edition. I just leveled up my Human Paladin. I know how to use the modifiers, but I cannot find tables for base initiatives. Where can I find these tables (if any are in the Player or DM book) or tell me of a formula that calculates this automatically? |

Your initiative is simply a d20 + modifiers, which would include dex bonus and anything else you have like Improved intiative feat. That's all there is to it. |
| Dragonsblood08-19-05, 12:39 AM | Base initiative is always 0. Add dex, feats, and any spell bonuses, then roll a d20 at the beginning of every combat. |
| Edymnion08-19-05, 12:59 AM | Yes, your initiative does not increase with level. |
| The Simbul08-19-05, 02:03 AM | Anything that specifically boosts Initiative checks or your Dexterity bonus, or anything that gives a bonus todextrity checks or ability checks in general (like say, a Luckstone or a Moment of Prescience spell), will also boost your Initiative check as well. |
