| Gadren03-05-06, 04:12 PM | Hey, I was thinking it'd be useful to start a series of threads about the Iconics: Devis, Lidda, Regdar, Jozan, Mialee, etc. Post any info you have about a specific character from the novels or other Wizards of the Coasts sources in the appropriate thread: All about Jozan, cleric of Pelor: |
| Dhavaer03-05-06, 07:02 PM | He is friends with Regdar and somewhat infatuated with Alhandra. His mentor became a priest of Gruumsh, and then changed his faith again to an unknown deity. |
| Licínio Miranda03-05-06, 08:25 PM | i think he was Skip Williams's character. And he sucks. Like all, i REPEAT, ALL THE OTHER ICONICS. They should reprint the player's handbook with new heroes. |
| Gadren03-05-06, 08:39 PM | I believe jozan, and the other iconics, were played by multiple people in the playtest process. And this is the info on the iconics thread, not the bash the iconics thread. |
| WhiteRaven81003-05-06, 08:54 PM | And this is the info on the iconics thread, not the bash the iconics thread. I'm sorry Garden, but the two go hand in hand. |
| doctorofjournalism03-05-06, 09:46 PM | jozan dropped the bomb and became a vampire. (HoH) |
| Milo HoBo03-06-06, 12:37 AM | Not bashing here, just stating my opinion. The major problem with the cleric (as a class) is that Jozan is the iconic cleric. A goody-two-shoes who heals, buffs, prays, ad et. This is an unpopular image that has led to a decline in PC clerics. To fix this WotC powered up the cleric (instead of changing flavor) which means we have an unpopular and overpowered class. If we had a cleric of say Olidammara or say Boccob the Uncaring (no free healing for you!) then clerics be more popular eliminating the need for their power boost. I am the type of player who likes the walking band-aid style of cleric, and therefore like Jozan. I do not, however, think he should represent all clerics. Pelor is cool, but choosing him to represent the dieties is an unpopular choice. So, if they went with St. Cuthbert, Boccob, or Olidimarra as the diety of their iconic cleric what do you think would have been different? |
| Dhavaer03-06-06, 12:59 AM | So, if they went with St. Cuthbert, Boccob, or Olidimarra as the diety of their iconic cleric what do you think would have been different? He might have been more snappily dressed. |
| Parker_W03-06-06, 02:53 AM | Jozan is a cleric of Pelor and has a closet homosexual attraction to Regdar. Under Pelor's "practicing homosexual" policy, this isn't really a problem. Jozan is growing ever doubtfull however, as he knows that "Pelor knows all", and Mailee has been asking his fashion advice ever since that "can you make this illusion for me" incedent that they promised never to talk about. |
| Dench03-06-06, 06:16 PM | In the Heroes of Horror Book, Jozan becomes a Vampire. is that true? |
| Elzaban the Ethereal03-06-06, 07:39 PM | In the Heroes of Horror Book, Jozan becomes a Vampire. is that true? Yes. In regards to the iconics, Heroes of Horror wins. Amazingly enough, it even makes Mialee look half decent. Is there anything that book can't do? Also, yeah, non-HoH Jozan is rather meh. Cleric of St. Cuthbert would have been wicked. Still, if we're refering to the iconics only, Eberk is definately the cooler cleric. |
| Kresalak03-06-06, 08:53 PM | Yeah, in Heroes of Horror, Mialee only looks too angular, rather then a creature so horrible that it should exist only in the darkest nightmares of dead Cthulhu. |
| Darth K'Trava03-06-06, 09:03 PM | He is friends with Regdar and somewhat infatuated with Alhandra. His mentor became a priest of Gruumsh, and then changed his faith again to an unknown deity. I think it was more "puppy-dog love" with her than anything. He became smitten but I don't think she returned the favor. She thought that she was better than he was as if she was a noblewoman compared to his being a commoner type of "better-ment"... But they did become friends with a hint of being something more that was never developed. |

| Darth K'Trava03-06-06, 09:36 PM | That's what I meant by 'infatuated'. He also suspected she was a celestial for a while. I think it was more that "first crush" that one has in those high school years. ;) Goes to show the boy shoulda gotten out more in those years of his clerical training...... :D |
| Verelor03-06-06, 10:12 PM | Are you joking me? Jozan rules! He is just such a wonderful character, and his crush on Ahlandra is kept quite realistic. But then again I'm something of an altruist, so I'm biased there. Here's a picture of Jozan in all his glory: http://wizards.com/dnd/images/EPIC_Gallery/Gallery1/44277_C1_cleric.jpg |
| Darth K'Trava03-06-06, 10:19 PM | He does look much cooler once he hit epic levels! :D But still has to do his divine "homework" :P http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/EPIC_Gallery/Gallery2/44280_C2_settingepics50274.jpg |
| Priest_of_Shaundakul04-04-06, 03:09 AM | Jozan is a pimp :) |
| Makuya04-04-06, 02:08 PM | I have noticed what so many have overlooked. In the PHB, we see Jozan casting symbol of pain; unfortunately, that's an [Evil] spell, and Pelor's a good-aligned deity. |
| Rocketboy1304-04-06, 02:22 PM | He does look much cooler once he hit epic levels! :D But still has to do his divine "homework" :P http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/EPIC_Gallery/Gallery2/44280_C2_settingepics50274.jpg I find it weird that he weres those confining metal pants while he is reading, doesn't he have a robe or some sweat pants or something, armor can be hot and cramped. :tiphat: |

Maybe that's where the vamp-pimp-Jozan came from :P And the epic picture looks way too noble and knighty yuck:yuck: I find it weird that he weres those confining metal pants while he is reading, doesn't he have a robe or some sweat pants or something, armor can be hot and cramped. :tiphat: Oh it IS hot. That's why all the girls dig him ;) |
