| NecroticBanana10-26-07, 08:06 PM | So is it an actual magazine, or just a PDF. file? i cant seem to find a straight awnser on the Paizo site. |
| Jamesmay198310-26-07, 08:57 PM | Kobold Quarterly is actually both. You can subscribe for I think around $36.00 for a year or 19.00 for PDFs. I know that the PDFs are available from paizo.com, but I think the actual print magazine can be subscribed to at wolfgangbaur.com It looks pretty interesting, but I do not subscribe yet. I have have been perusing the PDFs of the first issues before I make a decision. ~~JM |
| NecroticBanana10-26-07, 09:29 PM | well thats good...i'm not a real big fan of pdf.s or online game support products in general..feels kinda cheap.. i appreciate the feel and quality that goes into something that i can clutter my game room shelves with lol. |
| camthalion10-26-07, 11:07 PM | Is it available in brick and mortar stores? Mine had never heard of it. |
| Squach10-27-07, 11:27 AM | To my understanding, having talked to Wolfgang Baur (the publisher) about the magazine, the answer to that is no. It's not currently available in brick and mortar stores unless you're local store is really savvy and buying the print on demand version of the magazine and selling it at some mark-up in the store. But I doubt it. |
| Andron10-27-07, 11:42 AM | My question is is the mag actually worth it? I have limited funds and don't want to waste my time and money. Finding a good game mag to take over the loss of the previous two is going to be hard, at least until they start putting in real material again. So, is the mag worth the price? |
| Squach10-27-07, 11:55 AM | From what I've seen (two issues) the magazine is worth the price of the pdf subscription, easily. I would not pay for the paper version since the on demand printing technology is still simply to costly for me. But if you don't mind reading a digital copy or printing your own issues then I'd say KQ is a great investment. Go for it. For what it's worth I have plans on reviewing KQ for my podcast as a whole either just before or right after issue 3 comes out and discussing the value/worth of the magazine is one of the issues I intend to address (link to the podcast is in my signature). |

| Seeker9512-23-07, 08:59 AM | KQ is worth it. As good as or better than Dragon in all respects. Then again, that makes sense -- every author I have seen in KQ has also been published in Dragon, including our very own Zherog. |
| ephealy12-23-07, 12:32 PM | Things are fast and furious in the Kobold Mine (http://www.koboldquarterly.com/). We just launched a new promotion, so if you've been thinking about checking us out, but haven't pulled the trigger, now's a good time. Also, stay tuned in January when we'll be launching a new look for the KQ site, in conjunction with the release of Issue #3. |
