| Anurien09-11-06, 12:57 PM | Ok, here's a doozy for you. Which of the following bonus types to AC would apply to Touch AC, Flatfooted AC and Helpless AC? I've filled in the ones I know (or think I know), but can anyone fill in the blanks or point me in the direction of a definitive list? Appreciate that some of them may never apply but I'm not sufficiently confident in the matter to say which! So I guess this is part of the request also. Here goes: Alchemical (?) Armor (Flatfooted, Helpless) Competence (?) Deflection (Touch, Flatfooted, Helpless) Enhancement (Flatfooted, Helpless) Inherent (?) Insight (?) Luck (?) Morale (?) Natural Armor (Flatfooted, Helpless) Profane (?) Racial (?) Resistance (?) Sacred (?) Shield (Flatfooted, Helpless) Size (?) Also, are there any additional bonus types not listed in the DMG that have been introduced elsewhere? |

Helpless simply means you have an effective Dex of 0, which means you use a -5 as your Dex mod in place of what you actually have. *** Also, there's no such thing as an enhancement bonus to AC; instead, it's an enhancement bonus to the actual armor. For example, a chain shirt grants a +4 armor bonus. A +1 chain shirt grants a +5 armor bonus. |

That's another -4 to melee AC/+4 to ranged AC. 'Course if the target is helpless, they're open to coup de grace in which case it doesn't matter what their AC is. |

| fergin09-11-06, 07:08 PM | sorry this has nothing to do with your question but this is my first time on here and i did not know gow to start a fresh question. but anyway, I am creating a new character who will be wearing elven mail. can this character wear bracers of armour at the same time as the bracers of armour are effectively a mage armour spell? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks |
| Bulletproof_Condom09-11-06, 07:32 PM | First: http://www.freewebs.com/theonesean/boards/NewThread.GIF Second, no, elven chain, bracers of armor, and the mage armor spell all grant an Armor bonus, and multiple Armor bonuses don't stack. You would use whichever bonus was highest. |
