According to the DMG, acid damage is 1d6 per round of exposure, and full immersion is 10d6.

So, how does acid relate to armor?
Does armor make any difference at all?
What must be done to remove the acid?
CAN anything be done to remove the acid?

Armor has no affect on acid - wear it or don't, the damage is the same.

Your armor does need to make fortitude saves to keep from being destroyed by the acid, however.

Does armor make any difference at all?
See the previous question.

What must be done to remove the acid?
Wash it of with water or wine.

CAN anything be done to remove the acid?
See previous question.

Thank you. I appreciate your responses.

To clarify, unless I use water or wine (am I to assume that those are the ONLY solvents?), I will continue to take acid damage until I am consumed, i.e. dead? That seems the obvious response, but I want to make sure.

I recently realized that I have not used disease, level drain, ability drain, acid, or poison on my group in a LONG time. If I do use them, I want to make SURE I have my bases covered.

Once again, I appreciate all of your help. Thank you.

the acid does damage by being more acidic than what it is contact with and loses it's acidity as it does the damage. So small amounts will lose their potency (1d6) quickly but larger amounts will be rough for awhile. I don't recall ever seeing any charts for how long x amount of type x acid damages in any dnd product. Any material that is a base will negate the acid but i don't know if they have baking soda in fantasy worlds or not.

If all that is needed is a base, I will invent Rolaids/Tums in my games. Imagine: a solid, easily portable anti-acid... I think I will call it an antacid... How do you spell relief? =)

Seriously though, if they got specific about quantity and decay time it would be too complicated. I enjoy the abstract. It allows me to DM things I know nothing about and be consistant.

I appreciate your help! Thank you!
