can find are on Ebay and amazon and anyone on ebay that Ive messaged so far has basicly replied with "Just bid on it". Basicly not really helping me out.

And anyone on amazon wont reply to me when Im asking for a set of the three core books. Anyhow, my point here is, can anyone help me out with

finding a set of these books in very good condition with a price that isnt a bidding war against someone who will more than likely just turn around and

sell them anyhow. I want them to have and use. Thank you all very much for any input here. :D

If you don't, who gives a crap what the person who got them does with them? 2e books tend to go for pretty cheap prices on e-Bay. And if you don't like what you get, you can always sell 'em on e-Bay! :D

04-12-06, 12:13 AM You can purchase them as downloads on Paizo.com, if that works for you.
Otherwise, what Seeker said. Put in your max bid and see if you go the ebay route, or go to amazon and look for something in your price range.

04-12-06, 12:19 PM As has been suggested- if you live in a decent-sized town there is likely at least one used book or comic store that such second-hand materials congregate at. Call around some of them and ask who does second-hand gaming stuff and pretty soon someone will point you at the relevant store or stores. I recently picked up a 2cnd edition DMG, tome of magic, and several of the "Complete" books at the repository in Vancouver forinstance so theyre out there. The only thing that might be difficult would be the DMG since its a binder kinda thing rather than a book, and thus less durable.

04-12-06, 02:24 PM I don't think you can go wrong using Amazon. I've picked up a DMG, PHB, UA, MMI and II all for under $5 each plus shiping. You just have to be patient and keep searching around.

Ours has a whole bookcase devoted to old systems.I recommend the used book stores first, I picked up a copy of the 1e Unearthed Arcana at one for $14...The same book in slightly worse condition at a local Gaming store cost $40, glad I didn't listen to the friend who suggested I wait to buy it until we got to the Game store...

The DMG is a regular book, it was the MM that had a binder format. :)
Also, if you have any major cons that come near your area, you may want to try that. I always see some old DnD stuff at Dragon*Con.
For that matter, have you looked around the marketplace on this site? You may be able to find something there.

You've obviously never gotten into a bidding war on any of the mid to late 2e campaign setting box sets. Some of the Planescape material (such as Hellbound: the Blood War, and Planes of Conflict) can hit triple figures with regular frequency. High demand plus low print run can get ugly, though any of the generic 2e books should be cheap simply because of the massive numbers that got printed.

04-13-06, 04:26 PM None of my Monster Manuals were in binder format... Saying that, I remember getting lots of holepunched monster sheets in adventures (generally boxed sets), but my 2E MM is a bound book. Although it's got the black cover that they used for the later printings of the DMG and PHB, so maybe that's why. Not that it matters much anyway, just thought I'd chip in.
