| BuGGaTon02-17-06, 01:15 PM | Advanced Dungeon's and Dragons. Yey! None of this 'my character becomes awesome by min maxing'! Anyway... i'm not here to whine. I like 3rd ed too :P If 2nd Edition is now out of print and none of my local shops want to sell me it how do i go about obtaining the books and handbooks? I'm wanting to start running a 2nd Ed Campaign (purely because i know most of the rules and the players don't... meaning the rule's lawyers .... can't.... but more because i prefer the system :D) Any thoughts/idea's please either drop me a pm or leave a comment. Thanks for reading ^_^ love you all in the legs! |
| Milo HoBo02-17-06, 01:19 PM | They can be cheaply optained on e-bay and the such. If you want to buy any addition cheaply, ebay is the way to go. You could probably get near mint condition of a set and keep it as an antique or something. I've thought about doing it. |
| Aliquid02-17-06, 01:22 PM | re-post your question here (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=54) and you will get more responses. That's an area purely for out-of-print D&D discussions. or you can read this (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=267037) thread. |
| DanjaNinja02-17-06, 01:40 PM | Just one thing to add: If you can get a hold of something called the Core Rules CD-ROM, you'll be good to go. It's basically what it sounds like. |
| Giant Turtle02-17-06, 03:59 PM | This site (http://www.stiggybaby.com/) has a bunch of out of print and new books at 10%-45% discounts, might want to try there. You could also check Amazon.com, but I doubt they have any, I would recommend Ebay. |
| Grand Theft Otto02-17-06, 04:57 PM | Advanced Dungeon's and Dragons. Yey! None of this 'my character becomes awesome by min maxing'! You've clearly never played 2nd edition. Get ready for no one to be a human. If you think swapping to a different rules set will get rid of your min-max problems, you'd better be changing gaming groups along with the books. |
| allenchan02-17-06, 06:04 PM | Advanced Dungeon's and Dragons. Yey! None of this 'my character becomes awesome by min maxing'! Haha, best joke thread evar. |
| narukagami02-17-06, 06:19 PM | Advanced Dungeon's and Dragons. Yey! None of this 'my character becomes awesome by min maxing'! You obviously don't know much about 2nd ed then. |
| Varia02-17-06, 08:02 PM | Get your phone book and call around the various comic stores and second hand book stores and ask about old gaming stuff. One of them should be able to direct you to whoever does second-hand gaming stuff in your area pretty quickly. It may take a few weeks to get everything you need as stuff cycles through that store, but patience should win out. Getting a 2.0 monster manual will be a trick though. You're probably better off just getting a 1.0 MM/fiend folio/MM2 and using those, to be honest, although you may get lucky. *Hugs* Varia |
| rkr197002-17-06, 09:20 PM | DrivethruRPG & RPGNow both offer PDF version of 1st & 2nd Ed books, I believe. |
| The Grig Fiddler02-17-06, 09:28 PM | You don't find them. You will play 3.5 and you will like it. That or you go to bed without dessert. Just playing sorry. |
| weasel fierce02-17-06, 10:08 PM | Ignoring the mandatory fanboi's, Amazon and Ebay are best bets. |
| Darth_Azalin02-18-06, 08:14 AM | I personally would go with Paizopublishing... you can get almost everything dnd on pdf for like 4-5 bucks... you cant go wrong ... It makes me a little upset that my supermodules arent as rare as there were before this.. but its good for the ones that dont have anything of the like... |
