Many thanks. Adamantine weighs exactly the same as steel. However, they don't list how much the materials cost per pound, at least they don't for Adamantine.

Looking at a suit of full plate made of Adm, thats +15,000 gp.
Full plate weighs 50 pounds. Thats 300 gp per pound.

Now, you're going to get differant values using differant armors and weapons as the basis for weight, but Full Plate sounds like the best bet to me.

So if you gave them 5,000 gp of adm, tell 'em its in 8 two pound ingots, and a handful of smaller wafers about a half inch thick.

But if you use the above suggestion, it would weigh about 16.7 pounds for 5,000 gp worth of adm.

03-27-04, 01:10 AM Actually, I would use a single piece suit, like a chain shirt, as fullplate armor has several pounds of padding and leather straps incorporated into it's total weight.

When you consider this, along with the notion that 50 of any coin is a pound, it tells you that one adamantine piece (AP) is worth two gp. :D

(If nothing else, it's something new to fill a treasure chest with and stick in front of the PCs)

03-27-04, 08:22 PM This may vary according to the DM's wishes. For example, due to the high value in making World Gates in my campaign multiverse adamantine is actually 500gp a pound. Ironically, armor prices remain unchanged due to the stiff competition in adamantine armor.

My 3.0 Player's Handbook Pg. 225:
Under the text for the Major Creation spell:

"Items made of adamantite weigh 75% as much as similar items made of steel."

This was quite surprising to me, as i thought it was the same weight. Quite frankly, i'm confused. Anyone care to clear that up for me?

Maybe they are alloys, or in different states of refinement?

Adamantite slugs, perhaps.
But the act of minting those slugs into legitimate coinage would probably cost a couple hundred GP each.
