I'm currently running a campaign with a group of 6 and 2 more people want to join. Now I'm not one to turn away new players so I told them that I'd let them play. I'm posting this because I would like some ideas on what classes to kind of point them towards in character creation. Here's the party so far (all 4th level):

1. Human Bard (going to become that one class from Complete Adveturer that's a combination with a druid)
2. Half Orc Barbarian
3. Halfling Rogue
4. Elf Sorcerer (mainly damaging spells)
5. Human Dragon Disciple (blue dragon totem)
6. Human Fighter (Duel wielding 2 Bastard Swords)

I was thinking of pointing at least one towards another spell caster. But any suggestions?

ouch, big parties like that are hell to deal with, not so much because of them being overpowering, but more because of the sheer number of them slows everything down to a crawl (combat goes SO slow), likewise the challenge rating/encounter level system gets thrown out of whack, so you have to use your better judgement as to what they can handle and what will be a challenge.

what you need badly is a CLERIC (or druid), you need a divine caster to heal the troops

Just a suggestion, but I never try to steer a player into anything. It's ALWAYS more fun for them if they get to play what they want regardless of what the party "needs" are.

Plus with 8 player everything is pretty much covered anyway.

Yeah, I rekon just let them be whatever they want.

Yeah, I usually let the players play whatever they want. Just wanted some suggestions on if they ask what the group needs.

A divine caster is the only hole, and personally I would say cleric just because of the superior healing abilities (and I prefer them to druids).
On the other hand, there is a bard, and they can use cure wands, so it may not be that bad as long as they can cover the field.
