Ok... I need some ideas, quick... let me try to lay down the basic background...

We are putting together a hack and slash style game using modified 2nd edition rules. (Don't ask... lets just say it is a compromise. I only mention it so that we can all keep it in mind while discussing). There are 4 players that will be all starting at 3rd level (fighter, mage, thief, cleric).

ANYWAY, the basic arc I am going for is the party gathering in a village that is at the heart of a remote valley. Their initial adventure will have them saving the mayors daughter, who has been kidpnapped by the "kobold king"...

Once this is done, they will then be steered toward 4 dungeons/scenarios that will be strategiclly placed around the valley... Each scenario will provide a boss to beat, and a treasure to be acquired (customized for one of the party members). This is where I need help.

I have two scenarios in mind. One will deal with the dwarven colony whose mine has become overrun with monsters. Aother will deal with the fronteir city whose water system has been taken over by were rats, who will be at war with the local thieves guild.

Now, after all of this... to the crust of the matter. I need ideas for the other two adventures. I need situations whereby a single individual has corrupted an exsisting location (or created an all new one) of terrible evil. I thought I would see what other ideas my fellow DMs might have.

And remember, this is a tongue in cheek hack and slash campaign. It does not need to make sense. :smirk:

A corrupted fortest might be fun. You could set it up so that the "good" creatures have turned to evil. So the party could fight unicorns and whatnot that they normally wouldn't be able to.

But I think the "third" one should have some special environment to it. Hack and slash is fun, but it's neat to put a spin on all the combats. So make one underwater. You can have someone loan the party items to breate water and then they'd go underneath. They'd have to put all their fire based weapons and spells away and perhaps fight in three dimensions.

Happy gaming!

One idea could be a Wizard who is also an obessed chef. He could have a gingerbread fortess (edible). His servants could be gingerbread men (constucts). Also he could have a oven with children in it a la Hansel and Gretel.

^^^LOL^^^

what i have once done in a campaign is that the group was captured by orcs and brought to there orc encampment they where in prison (this will be the only NOT hack and slash part) you will have to get out of prison. (the weapons are gone and there's and dispel magic aura) after that they just slaughter the entire camp. After doing that they will think they are done and head for the main gates. At that moment the main gate's open en voila there's your BOSS.

hope you can work with this ;)

You might have the party return to the village for a little R&R, only to find that the mayor is actually evil and the entire village has turned against them...
