So just wondering what premade adventures are worth the money.
I have been considering Red Hand of Doom and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. My buddy who is usually DM wants Cormyr: Tear in the Weave or what ever its called. Some 1 shot adventures would also be nice. Thank you for your time.

I have not yet had the opportunity to try any of the ones you mentioned (although I have purchased both Red Hand of Doom and Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave).

However, I'm currently running and thoroughly enjoying the Age of Worms campaign from Dungeon Magazines #124-135, which has definitely been worth my money, and the Savage Tide campaign from Dungeon Magazines #139-150 also looks very good.

I have seen very few published adventures NOT worth the money. If you are willing to let someone else do the grunt work for you, then the criteria for "worth it" has many components beyond price. Does the adventure save me time? Practically inherent in published adventures!
Does it fit the levels for which it claims to have been designed? I have not found any that do not, although some of the larger scale adventures definitely steer toward the higher end of the range they suggest.
Does the adventure fit my campaign world? Out of the box (wrapper?) I usually need to change less than 10% to make it fit. For the vast majority, the only requirement is that I drop it somewhere into my world. Some of these require a name change.

The aspect that I find most important in a published adventure lies in the degree to which it allows the PCs decision-paths. Dungeon crawls are the least likely to require railroading, since the path the PCs take through the dungeon is dependent almost entirely on what direction they turn when given an option. (Crawls without options are "crawls" indeed.)

I have found only two adventures that were complete railroads, where it would have been better to just tell the PCs what they are doing next. Murder of the Seven Points (a 3e adventure from AEG) and Border Watch (a 2e Greyhawk adventure that I bought on eBay only because it completed my pre-3e TSR module collection.)
