| Osk Goblinreaver09-24-05, 10:08 AM | I am thinking of playing a LN cleric of Waukeen in a new campaign. I'd like to come up with some sort of adventuring charter/contract that explains the dividing of treasure, responsibilities of members, rules of conduct, and possibly the steps one has to take to join the group and the steps the group has to take to get rid of a member who is being a pain in the *** or just not doing thier job. I'd like it to have as much legal mumbo jumbo in it as possible. Has anybody come up with something similar that I could use as a template or have any ideas? thanks in advance for any help or advice |
| Rumple_Cragstan09-24-05, 11:48 AM | heh, well I'm in law class right now, so I might as well just make this up just for kicks to see if I can. First of all, you'll need a contract for each person in the party, and 2 copies of each contract (one for you, one for the person who signed it). Upon joining the (Adventuring Group), you are subject to these rules and regulations. You may not be considered a member of (Adventuring Party) without first signing this contract, signifying that you agree to follow these rules. 1 - All treasure will be divided between each party member equally, dead members included. No member will be awarded more or less than thier share. 1a - If a dead member's share of the treasure is enough to fully pay for a Revival Spell* then the Revival will be performed at the earliest time possible. If the dead member's share is not enough to pay for a revival, then an equal ammount from each member is also taken until the revival can be paid for. 2 - Any member of (Adventurer Group) may NOT perform ANY illegal acts while a member of (adventurer group). 3 - No member of (adventurer group) may accept any adventure contracts without discussing the contract with (adventurer group) beforehand. (at this point, just add in any rules you want, I've just given these as examples) * 'Revival Spell' is considered to be any magical effect that brings the dead back to life. The cheapest Revival Spell which will retain its effect will be used. By agreeing to these rules and regulations, you accept that if you breach any of these rules and regulations, you will be extradited from (adventurer group). If you performed any illegal acts causing you to be extradited from (adventurer group), you will be turned in to the appropriate authorities and be prosecuted under thier law without aid from (adventurer group). I, (Blank space where character signs) agree to follow these rules and regulations. |
| TheRedRobedWizard09-25-05, 08:18 PM | After I saw this thread, I decided that this would be a good idea for an Arcana Evolved campaign I'll be taking part in a week or so from now; so I drew one up for the Serathis Prospecting, Questing, and Reclamation Company. ----- Upon joining the Serathis Prospecting, Questing, and Reclamation Company (heretofore referred to as SPQR), you are subject to the rules and regulations detailed below. You may not be considered a member of SPQR (and as such, are not guaranteed a share in the profits of the company) without first signing this contract, signifying that you agree to follow these rules. 1 – All treasure will be divided between each party member equally. No member will be awarded more or less than their share. Cost of medical aid (whether to cure simple injury, poisoning, vitrification, petrification, or other natural or supernatural detriment) will be taken “off the top” before anyone receives their share of the profits. Keeping all the members of this company alive is priority one. 1a) Magical treasure will be given to the party member who can best use the particular item. That item’s value will be taken out of that member’s share for the mission. If that person does not wish to have it, then it passes to the next applicable member. If all members pass on the item, then the item will be sold and the value spread equally between the members of the group. 1b) What you spend your share on is your business. If you want to spend the money helping to rebuild the building we are planning on reclaiming to serve as our headquarters, then so be it. If you want to spend the money on hookers and booze and more hookers, then so be it. I’m not one to tell anyone how to spend their hard earned money. 2 – No member of SPQR may perform illegal acts while a member of SPQR; without the express consent of the rest of SPQR. SPQR will not bail you out unless the crime you have committed has been cleared with the rest of the company, and you tried your best. 3 – No member of SPQR may accept any outside contracts without first discussing the matter with the other members of SPQR and gaining their consent into such endeavors. 4 – We do the job, we get paid. That’s the idea. As long as the employer(s) give us what was agreed upon, there will be no bloodshed. If the employer(s) renege on their end of things, or they change the deal without telling us, then all bets are off. 5 – Disputes between members of SPQR are to be handled without bloodshed or violence. If an agreement (or armistice) cannot be reached promptly, the rest of the group will weigh in on the situation. 6 – The group takes no official stance on the conflict between the Diamond Throne and the Dragons. We will try to refrain from taking any contracts that advance or hinder the goals of either side. Individual members may take on quests that affect the conflict, but those individuals must adhere to the other rules of this contract (specifically #2 and #3). 7 – In addition to the above, each member of the group is expected to pull their weight. If you begin to serve no purpose, find a new purpose or find a new group. I don’t say this to sound mean; I just say this to keep us from having to haul a bunch of dead weight around. 8 – All members of the group are expected to treat each other with professional respect. I don’t care if you possess a seething and infernally fueled irrational hatred another member (or members) of this company, you are all members of this team and will be expected to be at least ambivalent to each other. By signing below, you enter in to a legally binding contract with the other members of SPQR. I agree to follow these rules and regulations. -------------------------------------------- ----- -TRRW |

| TheRedRobedWizard09-26-05, 11:20 AM | Very much on purpose, I was playing Anachronism at the time, and the background of Gaius Julius was staring up at me. -TRRW |
