In othere words, they are more akin to soldiers than dungeon-raiders. In a nutshell, a time of war has descended upon the campaign world and the characters serve one of several rival factions in an ongoing conflict - this epic struggle has really made adventuring (and treasure) obsolete. In theory, the idea is combine elements of skirmish-based wargaming with conventional fanatasy rpg. A hybrid of D&D (roleplaying) and Miniatures (table-top combat). I'm sure this concept is nothing new. For those of you who have tried this format - I'm curious to hear some feedback. Thanks. |

He was a huge Warhammer nut and our battles were very reminiscent of warhammer, but in between we roleplayed between each encounter and all. i mean it was fun but it kinda lacked in the roleplay dept. but if thats your cup of tea, then go for it! |

The thing that you need to remember is that there's always negotiations that need to happen, and a variety of day to day paperwork for any army. Add in the need for special ops forces (which likely become the PCs) and you have spy games, as well as massive tactical battles, with long negotiations with nobles. Good Fun. |
