| Illithid1310-21-05, 10:29 AM | Ok, so strangely enough, both my wife an I got bonuses at work (mine was expected, but it was bigger than I was told it would be.) So I thought that I'd support my local hobby shop. I'm buying 4 books, one of which is the 3.5 PHB (yea, I don't have one yet... been putting it off due to the SRD, but since I don't have a laptop, it's not helpful durring games). The other ones that I was thinking about are Lords of Madness and possibly Magic of Eberron, but I wanted to ask you guys if you knew of something that might better fill my requirements that I'm looking for. Here is what I want: Necromancy spells, Psionics, other spells, new races (this is a bonus). I really like the Eberron setting, but it's not an absolute. The books that I have are as follows: DMG, MM 1-3 and FF, Savage species, Races of Eberron and Stone, All Complete's to date, ECS, Oriental Adventures, Unaproachable East, Magic of Farune, Book of Exalted Deeds, Psionics Handbook and expanded, Herors of Horror, Sword & Fist, Defenders of the Faith, Masters of the Wild, Tome & Blood, Song & Silence, Draconomicon. Possible books I'm considering: Sandstorm (I hear they have great Necro Spells), Frostburn (same), Races of the Wild, Races of Destiny, Stormwreck, and the Book of Vile Darkness. I might consider Unearthed Arcana, but I don't think that it is widely accepted in my gaming group. Any Ideas as to what I should get? I'm ordering them today. Thanks alot! |

| Trixten_The_Kender10-22-05, 02:11 AM | Necromancy spells: Book of Vile Darkness and Libris Mortis: Book of the Undead Eberron: I LOVE the Explorer's Handbook and Five Nations, waiting for Magic to arrive. Draconomicon: Couldn't live without!!!! The Spell Compendium is due out next month, that one should be really worth the money based on what I have read and heard. Also, the DMG II looked really good when I thumbed through it. I hope this helps, happy shopping. |

Don't be put-off by the non-official nature of this book, it presents some really good ideas. Even if you can not use these ideas now, you may be able to at a later date. I also liked what little I saw in the DMG2 for much the same reason. |
