| EBrightblade03-09-06, 11:44 PM | So a PC in my campaign wants to age himself magically...don't ask why, I'm not even sure....i can't seem to find anything on this. There doesn't seem to be any aging potions in the books I have, cursed items that age him, or spells. I suggested a wish spell if he is really that hell bent on it, but I'm not sure the limitations it would have, or if there were any rules for such a thing. Is there a standard set of years he could age with that? Like 10 for every spell he used or is it totally my call? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

If he wants to age make him go and find a sage (and spend lots of gold in the process) to find some ancient artifact or legend that will age him. Like a fountain of Old instead of a fountain of youth. If he can't afford the sage then have the sage give him a quest (they always need something.) You have numerous adventure opprotunities here. God, I love it when players want this sort of thing it means I don't have to think of a plot line or a way to get them to the dungeon. If it were me I would A.) Have him find a sage that doesn't want money but wants something accomplished (an old diary from a tomb etc) one adventure. B.) Second Adventure would be the sage tell him of a ancient text with a map to the Fountain of Age. Sage tells him the lost city it was last seen in. Two adventures C.) the actual quest for the fountain and if they find it (and I'm a stinker here) have the damn thing age him about 5 times what he wants so if he wants to age 10 years have it age him 50 and guess what now he needs to find a Fountain of youth and you know just the sage who needs another Quest to point him in the right direction *smiles* Remeber that just because there isn't a spell or a potion in the books that you can always make one up your the DM. Good luck. |

In 1.0 they used to make you weaker, wimpier, and somewhat less agile, but you got smarter and wiser. If 3.5 is the same and he's a class that needs int or wis that may be why he wants to do it. If so, I would point out that the int and wis bonuses come from long experience. Physically aging his body wont provide that, it will just cause the physical stat losses. *Hugs* Varia |
