05-16-07, 10:15 AM Is there any where stated how to make this

reason is i have an archer (arcane archer to be)

if the foe is using an armor with no helmet
can i aim for the head thus ignoring the AC of his armor and armor enchantments i know there is a penalty due to the size
but this could also be used to like hit the eye of a mob forcing it to blind fight

any one that can help ???

05-16-07, 10:27 AM There are no called shots in D&D, and for good reason. Reason 1) anything you can do, so can your opponents, and 2) With the proper buffs (True Strike being the common example brought up in called shots arguments), encounters will end very quickly for the PC who, if not dead, will end up blind, lame, deaf, and mute before 3rd level.

05-16-07, 11:16 AM For the first situation there is a feat that essentially has that effect. For the secon situation try looking at the ambush feats in Complete Scoundrel.

Sure, he gets a dodge bonus equal to his armor bonus, that applies even while flat footed or ordinarily denied his dex bonus. Go nuts. ;)

Seriously, theres a reason why you cant normally ignore someone's armor. If it was worthwhile to do it, no one would ever NOT do it. If it wasnt, it would largely be pointless.

There was a feat in either Sword and Fist or Song and Silence called "chink in the armor" that let you spend a round aiming to negate half the armor bonus or something similar. Thats probably as close as you'll get.

05-16-07, 12:46 PM As an archer, you cant have heavy armor on your hands. Do you really want every shot the comes your way to hit you in the hands??

Called shot is so powerful that everybody would do it all the time. And it hurts the players worse than the monsters.
