| Angel_Azriel01-22-04, 09:18 AM | A friend of mine is playing someone from Al'Qadim, as one of those weird classes that I can't spell (a spellcaster who has a Gen, which travels the plane to convince elementals to grant spells to his master for a certain time). He said he saw a conversion in Dragon, and asked the DM if he could play one. The DM agreed. |

| Wickid Knight01-22-04, 05:16 PM | I have the original Al'Qadim campaign setting and I don't recall it having the heading "FORGOTTEN REALMS" |

But it is still part of Toril and FR. There are references to Faerun in the 1st box set. Just like The Horde lands are part of Toril as is Kara-Tur. The back of the 1st box set also says "Weather you start in FR or Zakhara...." So again he would have gotten a faster answer if he asked over on the FR boards. :) Also here's the "official" fan site for the setting. http://www.al-qadim.com/ |
| Wickid Knight01-23-04, 01:33 AM | Well, I had my assumptions on that. I couldn't figure were exactly that boooooooooootiful map that came with the boxed set fit in the FR world. Then it was just plain reaching and hoping that they wouldn't corrupt that wonderful and colorful setting by putting it so close to the taint that is FR. I have browsed a few of these Al-Qadim pages and they do a justice, it is great. |

Zakhara is in the southeast part of the world a little below Faerun and almost right next to Kara-tur. :) Actually Zakhara and Kara-tur have a border pretty much. |
