| Ramza0Tyr07-29-05, 10:30 PM | Hello folks. Can anyone point me in the right direction for any background information on alchemical properties of natural items. (leaves, bark, blood, etc.) I am specifically hoping to find a listing of items and their alchemical properties, including some that are poisonous... with a variety of positive and negative effects. I just recently purchased the three core books. I assume that I could work up some ideas by reading through the Monster Manual, but I am hoping that someone (maybe someone reading this post) might have posted a listing somewhere. Obviously, I am looking for something beyond the tiny list on page 296 of the Dungeon Masters Guide. Failing that, have any of you found any references that you use for this purpose? (Preferably free, but feel free to make me wish that I could buy more books just for poisons and other alchemical properties.) Thanks in advance to anyone that provides some help. Ramza |

Include a few specific regants in with your treasure, then maybe a torn-up book of poisons, just enough info to be dangerous. Just remember the 5% rule for poisioning yourself :P |

It wasn't deadly, but it produced a skin condition that looked like syphilis(i think) which was treated with mercury, which did hte job. Monkshood, black hemlock and wolfsbane were used as poisons |

I'm really interested in taking a close look at alchemical properties of things "in the world". So, even if you don't have something that is relevant to poison (which is likely to be an important part of the alchemical properties), please share. I'm open to looking at just about any kind of published or homebrewed system, or even just a list of items and properties. Thanks. Ramza |
