Alignment ? [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-26-05, 03:26 PM I am in a quest where i am a chaotic evil true necro. there were times in the quest where we could wander around the city and do whatever. i thought it would be fun to kill some bums on the street. after I killed all of the bums in the city i was given the title bumslayer and I went on to 3 more cities and did the same. after all of this my group was questioning if my alignment should change to good or maybe even lawful good because I single handedly solved the city's bum problem. I said no because I killed innocent people for no good reason. We eventually decided to let the people here decide if my alignment changes or stays the same.

07-26-05, 03:46 PM Bums are a subrace of nonsentient beings???? If you had killed all the rats, thats LG. If your group honstly thinks killing people for kicks is good, they have no grasp at all on alignment. And yes thats not CE, thats CS. Or maybe just psicotic.

CE and CS are two different things. A CE Necro would have killed a couple bums becuase he needed material components(corpses) and the bums would be less likely to be heavily investigated than other folk. What a CE wouldn't do is kill all the city's bums for kicks. That's CS.

When will people learn that CE doesn't have to mean "idiotically, dangerously insane?"

07-26-05, 09:48 PM I think your character will be alway evil,in my campaign,necromancy is a kind of evil magic and most people think that necromancer are evil.In the book of vile darkness,they say that evil magic make a character automaticaly evil,maybe thats the case of necromancy,I'm not sure....really not sure...

It's a rich, full campaign. ;)

Then again, this guy is only slightly less evil than people killing goblins to take thier stuff. At the very least, he's doing it for no reason instead of out of greed.
