Anyways, I want to know what you people consider to be the best D&D webcomic out there in cyberspace.

For me its Order of the Stick, link in my sig.
Either just vote or post a link, please make sure you aren't the umpteenth person to post the same link to the same lousy 3 strip comic...

I want some serious hilarity here!!

03-04-07, 10:52 PM DnD comic no one compares to OoTS, although I really like the comic in the back of dragon with the fighter, dwarf, and rogue.

As for general gaming comic, Penny Arcade is funny as well.

Also, for real people that are dorks, Least I could do.

03-05-07, 12:59 AM OotS, nodwick, zogonia(that one is really good), goblins is ok. Critical fuble was good until it sort of stopped getting updates, and if you like video games (and a lot of the humor applies to dnd as well) then you cannot go wrong with Adventurers! and RPG world, although both are sadly ended, they were AMAZING. I reccomend checking them out.

-Its not really funny, and thus, people don't like it as much. Its more like a comic book)
-Thunt updates so rarely. I know he's busy with things, and that the comic isn't his life, but its become more of a blog for apologies.

But, for those of you who say Goblins FTL, read Dominic Deegan(no, its not D&D, but it is fantasy-gaming inspired). There is no "L" like DD.

03-05-07, 10:24 AM I used to think Goblins was far better than OotS, but then it stopped updating. That said OotS also got far far better over the past month or so possibly because of the competition Goblins was providing. That said while not a D&D comic Oracle for Hire is by far one of the best webcomics out there. I'm presently reading over 100 active webcomics, and OfH has never once left the top three.

03-05-07, 10:54 AM OoTS is the best, hands down.

I do like Goblins well enough, but the slow updating is killer. Esp for that sort of comic. It would be one thing if it were a standalone gag strip, but advancing a dramatic and multi-faceted plot in those tiny little bites just doesn't work. I stopped reading it with any regularity back during that one battle scene that I think took several weeks to resolve, and I'm still not sure what it has to do with the main plot. At this point, I have decided to only read it every once in a while, as it works best saving up to read several in a row, like a comic book, and actually feel the motion of the plot.

I can never figure out what he's doing. :( I don't think he's stopped entirely, but he's basically down to roughly 1 update/month with the main Goblins comic. I think he's trying to update Tempt's Fate, but he's waiting for certain deadlines for his donations to be met. His current donation deadline is by March 22nd, but as little time as he seems to have, its strange that people are still actually donating.

Also, yeah, I really like DM of the Rings and Erfworld.

I won a custom avatar as a prize from UnCon several years ago. For a while, I didn't "claim" my prize, because I didn't have any idea what I wanted (that WotC would allow ;) ). Rich is a friend of mine, and at the time we were playing together in a campaign. Order of the Stick had already taken off as a well-liked comic, but it hadn't quite hit its "superstar" status.

I've always identified with Elan, for whatever reason (even though Belkar is my favorite character). I asked Rich if I could get some sort of Elan image as an avatar for here. In about 5 minutes, tops, he put together that image for me and I sent it off to be installed as my avatar.

When I first got the avatar, I regularly got PMs from people yelling at me for "stealing" Rich's artwork as my avatar. I'd get stuff like, "Rich Burlew owns the copyright on that image, and you shouldn't use it without his permission!"

Rich has since re-used this Elan image at least twice. When he created avatars for Paizo to use, this one was the Elan character chosen. And the Elan pin he gave out at GenCon is the same image, but with a different color background.

Goblins...I've never been able to figure out it got popular I'm afraid, for me the act got old too fast to be any good.

DD.OFH, is good, but but I still don't rate as that close to OOTS's goodness. But it is a D&D strip at least in part, since several of the characters (and spells) are by rep. D&D characters used by the author... now thats a new way to get real milage out of your old characters...

03-05-07, 09:55 PM Yeah, knights of the Dinner table is excellent and definately as good or better than OotS, unfortunately, it is not free, nor is it a webcomic, but an actual one. Still a good read.

Nodwick and Full Frontal Nerdity are good too though. Worth giving honorable mention to.

03-06-07, 03:13 AM I gotta go OoTS. Burlew's really got a knack for his unique method of storytelling -- he's got wit, surprisingly well rounded characters, enough game knowledge to pull it all off gracefully, and an art style that simply can't be beat for the sort of story he's telling.

KotDT is still cool and all, but it's a different flavor of gaming comic. Ditto with Nodwick and Goblins. They're all fun to read, but OoTS is the only one I've ever opened up my wallet for (and that's saying something).
