03-02-07, 10:35 PM Is anyone becoming annoyed by Alltel's commercial series that pokes fun at DnD (The other companies are portrayed as DnD playing Nerd while Alltel is "cool)

(It's enough that I've never even heard of Alltel before, but I have to go search the internet for these ads as well?)

03-02-07, 11:17 PM Alltel is running a mobile promotion right now where they equal or better the offers of the other 4 major carries. In the commercials, each carrier is represented by a person, with the Alltel rep being very photogenic and the others looking like stereotypical losers.

In the latest commercial, the losers pull Alltel in a ratty van and attempt to intimidate him into stopping his competition. He refuses, then asks what level Dungeon Masters they are; they respond (and reveal their nerdiness) with "Heh, Dungeon Masters don't have levels."

No no no, that just proves they're not ignorant. If they were truly geeky, they would have given their RPGA ranks. ;)

Personally, I don't see this as derogatory at all. They're just replacing their celebrity spokesman lookalikes with more generic characters. And what's wrong with being nerdy? It's the 21st century; the geek have inherited the earth! :tie:

03-03-07, 01:04 PM Me too never seen them. I don't actaully get any tv channels, I just watch DVD's of Futurama and Justice League when I want to watch TV. I see no commercials.

I don't have cable nor is my TV ever on since I only use it to watch movies...which I do a lot.
