You can do single-person games, or two person games, but alone is just silly.

Its more like those old Choose your Own Adventure books, you know the ones that after you read the page, you make a descision based on the choices given to you at the bottom, then turn to that page and continue the story. Its been a long time, but I found a 1st edition adventure set up that way. If there was combat involved, you had to roll for both you and the monster, but it told you what to roll. Afterwords, the choices might of been:

1. If you beat the goblin, turn to section xx.
2. If you ran away from the goblin, turn to section yy.
3. If the goblin beat you, turn to section zz.

And other stuff like that.

04-16-06, 10:52 PM I enjoy playing alone, although I don't have many options since I don't know anyone who plays D&D irl anyways. It's fun, I can experiment with all kinds of stuff without annoying the heck out of the other players. :D

04-16-06, 11:30 PM its nice that you can experiment on yourself. i did it all through high school. and i think i'm for the better. but once i got with "a partner" i was able to bumble through it again. so continue on lone walker, and use plenty of relaxing thoughts. and when thinking of dnd, rub one "campaign" out for the rest of us.

04-17-06, 07:56 AM I playtest my adventures / encounters on my own first, but aside from that, it's not much fun to roleplay alone. In the end, you're just talking to yourself. And scaring anyone that might happen to be watching.
