| oberyn06-26-05, 02:24 PM | hi all now my guy isnt going to be first level. But i was just wondering what animals in any books would you allow a first level druid to take as a companion? If its in a book other than the MM just gimme the book and ill find it. P.S. Mods sorry about the double post but i wasnt getting diddly on the other boards. |
| Futeki_kishi06-26-05, 02:43 PM | At 1st level the druid can have any animal with 2HD or less. In our campaigns the DM just gives us any 2HD animal we want to start with. But if it dies and we pass 1st level he makes us go and get a new animal on our own, fallowing the normal rules. So if our animal dies at 2nd level we would have to find a 1HD animal and try not to cry at the loss of our cuddly wuddly wolf or what not and accept the stupid bunny that will replace it :tantrum: I hope i helped :D |
| Iron Cobra06-26-05, 04:15 PM | Who picks a bunny for a companion anyhow? |
| oberyn06-26-05, 04:21 PM | if i cant find anything i like better im thinking of getting wolves for my companions. But id like to see if you guys can come up with any other options with stats comparable to a wolf. |

| oberyn06-26-05, 11:16 PM | Yes companionS . Were playing in dawnforge and as a halfling i get 5 racial transformations and one of those that i can take as many times as i want is anumal companion and it get smy full level benefit. so at the moment im going to have a pack of wolves four of them all at 6 HD large size with a +4 to NA, +2 to strength and dex, and the other variouse benefits of a 6th level copmanion. oh im also taking a variant bard with no spells and so i took an animal companion to start offsetting no spells. ill have nine eventually. nine with full level 20 benefits. |
| Seeker9506-27-05, 12:04 PM | Yes companionS [...] Does your DM happen to live at the end of a Yellow Road? :P |
| J Milburn06-27-05, 12:12 PM | Well, i cant remeber where it is, (check the themed character post in this forum, i think there is a link there) but you can have a vermin druid who can take vermin as their animal companion as a variant. It is somewhere on this site... |
| Swarms06-27-05, 05:11 PM | Yeah, i play a vermin druid. It's fun! :D go to: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20040705a if you want to play one Go Centipedes! |
| Futeki_kishi06-27-05, 08:14 PM | Leave the bunny alone what did he do to you! He made a wonderful spy btw... |
| anarco_rata06-27-05, 08:42 PM | In one of my first adventures i had a bunny as animal companion, and my party eat him while i was trying to find shelter, i hate them...ended up killing them in their sleep, mourderous bastards |
| Futeki_kishi06-28-05, 12:43 PM | Bunny wielding druids UNite against the forces of eating your companion! :fight!: |
| DDogwood06-28-05, 01:13 PM | Who picks a bunny for a companion anyhow? I think a 10 HD bunny would be a lot of fun. |
