| ShinoAburame08-06-07, 12:06 PM | I've comeup with many HP systems, but this one seems to stickout the most to people I tell it about. It takes the wound system to a whole new level. Roll 2d10. Look at them as a d100 in both directions. If one direction rolls under the damage, you are wounded. If both directions roll under the damage, you are dead. If you roll doubles you are wounded even if you roll over the damage. If you are wounded when already wounded, you die. (If you take X% damage, your chance of death becomes very close to X%^2, and your chance of being wounded becomes X%+X%^2. These are pretty curves. Hit Die's Relationship: Rather then hit die being a bunchof worthless HP. Hit die would ultimately determine how many "wounds" one could take before dieing. d4=1 d6=2 d8=3 d10=4 d12=5 And no, they wouldn't stack. Dare I say that might actually make melee characters broken if they could flesh out 4 to 5 xcharacter level in wounds before dieing. I want the power-curve between levels to lessen, so stacking wounds would go against my original intent! Healing: Healing may be more or less important, depending on who's being healed. Inorder to heal a wound, you must heal equal to the amount of damage taken to cause that wound, this will require a little more written document, but be well worth it. Obviously healing each wound will be seperate from the last. So the local cleric can't just use heal major wounds and poof you're all better. He's going to have to heal several times before it actually makes any significant differance! It's my intention to turn D&D into a more action/adventure type rpg (Like Kingdom Hearts or Fable) instead a cold stagnent turn-based rpg. (Like Final Fantasy) Infact the wound system greatly resembles Zelda's "Heart System" and might be a more appropiate name for it. |

But you might get more constructive responses on the house rules forum. You know, people going there are there to critic, so it's usually better. Just trying to help. |
