| BoDiddilly11-25-06, 07:54 PM | Im considering making an alternitive werewolf for a werewolf fanboy who will be in my low level rollplayers campain. The player will probably start as a resently inflicted werewolf who then goes though the intial process of transformation, the blackouts, and eventially the reallization that he is a werewolf. Sense you are not able to take skill points in change shape untill you realize you are werewolf. The player wont be able to build his character optimally. He will have little control over his shape at first which seems to weaken the advantages of the werewolf therefor Im trying to build a low level Werewolf , maybe one with a more complicated series of staged hybid forms that mimics the Werewolf apocalypse's transformations. Ideas, and suggestion appretiated, Im not done with my alteritive prototype yet but I will try to post one soon. |

If he finds a werewolf pack to run with, a retraining ritual could be one of their treasured powers. If you're running good werewolves, it could be a "Bind the Beast" sort of pact that lets him put ranks in Control Shape; possibly something involving wolfsbane and starlight dances. If you're running evil werewolves, it's "Feeding the Beast", involving a ritualized hunt - with innocent victims! |

You could make it a LA 1 character with less abilities, then allow more abilities to be added on as feats at levels 1, 3, 6, 9, etc. I believe unearthed arcana has variant rules on making level-adjustment races into 0LA races with abilities granted as feats. sean reynolds has an inexpensive d20 sourcebook pdf on his site (http://www.seankreynolds.com/skrg/products/005COTM/) that is all about lycanthropes and how to make them more easily playable. |
