BeeBlar 03-07-06, 08:45 AM	ok here is what happened. i was a chaotic good character. my party went to fight a red dragon. well after my druid friend summoned a huge earth elemental and dropped it from the ceiling of the cave (80 ft) it killed the dragon and i just happened to be standing close enought as i am a fighter. needless to say i died. my friend got some of my blood to get me ressurected but the dm had a good plot for his stupity. when i was ressurected i was infused with a red dragon. i gained the abilities but i also changed my alignment to CE. what i was wondering is there an amulet or ring to change my alignment. ive looked through the DM guide and the pocket magica but i coudln't find anything.
Pennarin 03-07-06, 09:03 AM	Its in the cursed items section. Helm of Opposite Alignment: This metal hat looks like a typical helmet. When placed upon the head, however, its curse immediately takes effect (Will DC 15 negates). On a failed save, the alignment of the wearer is radically altered to an alignment as different as possible from the former alignment—good to evil, chaotic to lawful, neutral to some extreme commitment (LE, LG, CE, or CG). Alteration in alignment is mental as well as moral, and the individual changed by the magic thoroughly enjoys his new outlook. A character who succeeds on his save can continue to wear the helmet without suffering the effect of the curse, but if he takes it off and later puts it on again, another save is required. The curse only works once; that is, a character whose alignment has been changed cannot change it again by donning the helmet a second time. Only a wish or a miracle can restore former alignment, and the affected individual does not make any attempt to return to the former alignment. (In fact, he views the prospect with horror and avoids it in any way possible.) If a character of a class with an alignment requirement is affected, an atonement spell is needed as well if the curse is to be obliterated. When a helm of opposite alignment has functioned once, it loses its magical properties. Strong transmutation; CL 12th; Create Wondrous Item, creator must be 12th level; Price 4,000 gp;Weight 3 lb. You said you gained the abilties of a red dragon? I don't know how your DM managed that, but know that there are ways of doing this using game rules. There's always gaining the half-dragon template (Monster Manual) or the draconic template (Races of the Dragon). I suggest the latter.
BeeBlar 03-07-06, 09:09 AM	well he gave me the traits of a half red dragon...in it it says that the character will change its alignment to whatever is natural of that type of dragon.... but i appreciate the help, you dont happen to know what this item might be called?
Rocketboy13 03-07-06, 02:52 PM	You should know that it is usually customary, that when through act of god one's alignment shifts, they like it. They find their new alignment to be an awakening, lived a new born babtist they embrace their new world view with a striking level of fervor, they don't try to switch back to what they were before. :thinks: You should just embrace your characters new outlook and just see it as a religious experience.

Nylira 03-07-06, 10:54 PM	I would say get your druid friend to cast an Atonement spell on you. [Atonement Cleric 5, Druid 5 . P201 PHB] That should probably do the trick. Though when the DM claims 'divine change' it will probably be irreversible. At which point I can only more then join in with the rest in saying abuse your new inner evil to the max. Then see how long it will take for the DM to tire of it. :)

I'd say the DM is ****ing with you, or is just a retard, because that sounds extemely contrived. Furthermore, having a CE (that role-plays of course) in most parties is a game-ender. Do you like the DM? If so either, DONT role-play CE and try to get attoned or wished, or take him/her aside and ask what the hell is going on. If you DONT like the DM.......play CE to its fullest and love every minute of it!

Getting atonement / wish / helm of reverse alignment or any other means of changing alignment is NOT something you should "try". These are all in-game decisions. And to put it in simple terms... Your character would not want to change. When was the last time you were playing a character and told the DM... Dudley the Paladin is tired of being a Do-Right. I am going to seek out a means of becoming evil. Your cahracter's alignment matches his or her outlook. It is a reflection of how s/he feels about the world, life, other living beings, and interaction. If your character has had an alignment change, even if forced upon him/her, that change affects how s/he sees things. S/He will not seek to change it. Your friends, on the other hand, may seek a solution to make you the way you were, but if you get wind of it, you will be sorely upset with them. And might do something drastic. Chaotic Evil is not known for its loyalty or forgiveness.
