I know this topic is confusing. But is it possible when a hero fight a villain (And I do mean any type of villain.) the hero was really going to kill the villain this badly, but however the villain wanted to spare his or her lives. But unfortunately the hero doesn'y care and kill the villain anyway? It is really possible because not hero doesn't have this of judgment.

You might want to rephrase that.

In other words. The hero kill everybody with an evil purpose. Even if the hero friend wanted to protect that person.

In response to your amazingly cryptic question, heroes sometimes do evil things. The example you gave is one of those times.

It doesn't mean the hero is immediately evil, but they are less good than they were before.

If you really want to get technical ALL adventurers are evil. Sure they do things "for the greater good". Of course, the greater good means getting more power (XP) and more money to blow. SUre they slayed evil...but shouldn't there be balance in things? And where does the good come from when a party slaughters Orcs in a mountain, away from civilization because the Orcs are evil

Basically what I am saying is this...if you think its evil, make the PC turn towards evil. If not...don't. Its a game.

I agree with the all adventurers are evil. The most succusful campaigns I run are evil campaigns (players want to destroy the world). I'm playing a campaign where everyone is good and trying to destroy evil but the DM uses a Taint System. Well, if we're running around fighting evil then we have to do evil things or else we'll get our heads blasted off around every corner. My character is the only one that's succeeded in the game and he's got tons of taint. If you want a goodie-goodie hero then you're going to have to play in a very bland world of everything being Black and White, Good against Evil.

My personal beliefe is that good and evil need each other to coexist and that's how I run my games.

How does the taint works?
