| Bartmanhomer09-21-05, 06:03 PM | Imagine, what if two archdevils Belial and Mephoisties join forces to save Fierna from the demon lord G'razzt to used her as a sacrifice for a divine intervention. Belial and Mephosities have a big history with G'razzt. Mephoisties love Fierna. Do you think it's a good idea? |
| Ogre4Hire09-21-05, 08:05 PM | Would this actually add something to the campaign? |
| Turbosloth09-21-05, 11:40 PM | sure, its a great idea as long as your characters are at least 21st level... and probably at least 25th+. I have read the statlines for the archdevils/demon princes, and below epic level you are looking at your party being wiped out with one casual backhand swat... which may not be a bad thing if you have any good characters... especially paladins... i hate smegging paladins... and good clerics... and anyone else with good in their alignment... i mean seriously, whats wrong with EVIL?! |
| green_yawgmoth09-22-05, 09:00 AM | They're both LE. They both care about Fierna. They both hate CE as a matter of principle. Last I checked, Belial and Mephistopheles have no bad blood between them. So what makes this so "unlikely"? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
| Ogre4Hire09-22-05, 07:00 PM | Well, Graz'zt actually managing to kidnap Fierna, for one thing. Then there's the fact that both of the Archdevils would be much more likely to backstab the other in an attempt to gain more power than cooperate (hey, no bad blood between two fiends just means that Mephistopheles will try not to enjoy it too much when he shoves a knife into Belial's back). Other than that, I don't find anything that's too unlikely. |
| spectralphoenix09-23-05, 12:50 AM | It's possible, I suppose. That said, unless your PC's are demon cultists of some kind I can't really see this as a plot hook. Most good parties would be happy to let the archfiends duke it out. |

Most good parties would be happy to let the archfiends duke it out. I suppose its possible that the PCs could somehow end up in the middle of a war between the various cults or as unwitting pawns by the Archdevils involved. You know, get tricked/manipulated/hired/what-have-you into finding the McGuffin that will somehow complete the sacrifce or stop it. A clever DM could come up with lots of plot hooks from such an idea. |
| Bartmanhomer09-23-05, 04:17 PM | Well, this plot is seems like a love story to me. :D |
| Verelor09-23-05, 06:15 PM | Mephistopheles, in love? Go shoot yourself. |
| green_yawgmoth09-23-05, 07:10 PM | Mephistopheles, in love? Go shoot yourself. Why? There's nothing saying that an archdevil can't love. What the hell is your problem? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
| Arden Blackleaf09-23-05, 08:29 PM | I'm an uncreative person, who doesn't like breaking stereotypes. Please educate me in the ways of creativity.. Muuuuuch better. ((Yes. I am currently trolling. I figured he deserved it so punish me as you see fit WIZO"S :) )) Now back on topic. I actually think this is a great plothook. Especially if one has a cleric of the Goddess of love in your party. | Bartmanhomer09-24-05, 12:08 PM | I wonder what the CR Rating for Belial and Mepostopeles for saving Fierna from G'razzt and also facing G'razzt in combat in two on one? |
