Suppose a character with the Ancestral Item feat out of the book of Exaulted Deeds built the weapon up to a specialty weapon like a sun blade. How does one figure out how to build past it? Do you take the gold peice value and match it to an equivelent + modifier on the magic weapon chart (roughly a +5 weapon) in this case? Or do you take the base +2 modifier the sun blade (8000gp) and assume the rest of the abilities as just an additional +42,000gp valued like some of the other weapon special abilities? What I am trying to figure out is how you breakdown the gp values of special weapons so you can add to them after their full normal powers have been realized with the feat? PS please excuse any slight miscalculations, my books were unavailable at the time!
