Ok, here is the link to an album I made earlier today. In it you will find a drawing I made recently of Drizzt's scimitar, Icingdeath.

(If , for some reason, the underlined link doesn't work, just type it ( copy it ) in the address bar . It'll work 100%)

"... uncovering a gem-encrusted sword pommel, its black adamantite hilt masterfully sculpted into the likeness of the toothed maw of a hunting cat." -The Crystal Shard

When I first read these words back in 1988, a picture of the weapon quickly came to my mind. The drawing I made represents a very honest interpretation of what I read. It's not a very nice drawing by artist standards, but then again, I'm not much of an artist. :D

If you have the time, I would like you to visit www.reliks.com.
There, you will find a photo of Drizzt's scimitars ( The ones endorsed by R.A.Salvatore and Tod Lockwood ). You can find them quickly; the'yre right on the main page.

Just compare it to my drawing , and tell me , honestly, which you think conforms more to the brief description given by Salvatore in "The Crystal Shard".

Very nice work. Excellent shadding.

BTW, fixed your link: Ye' Cind's Drawings (http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/legendary_weapons/swords/)
Also, the one to Reliks (http://www.reliks.com)
I went and found Icingdeath (http://www.reliks.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=1554&step=4) and Twinkle (http://www.reliks.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=1555&step=4) for you too.

All web addresses have HTTP:// before the WWW.NAME.COM part. If you leave out the HTTP:// part then it wont work.

The drawing in question (if my img-fu is as good as my link-fu):

:D

I know it looks silly and not very much like a scimitar, ( back then I didn't know the difference between a scimitar and a falchion ) but....

If you look closely at the cover art of Streams of Silver and the Halfling's Gem ( the old printings ) you will find that this is how the artists depicted the scimitar ( short and broad-bladed , rather than long and thin -bladed ). Also, the description of Salavatore, says :

"....its black adamantite hilt masterfully sculpted into the likeness of the toothed maw of a hunting cat."

Note the use of the word: "SCULPTED".

So I envisioned a 3d sculputure of a panther head rather than what we see at reliks.com.

I thank you for your effort to correct the links tho. :)

Not bad, but the grip looks like it's a bit too thick for Drizzt's thin elven fingers.
