I know there's a D&D test that gives you your race, class, and ability scores...or a LOT of people are completely lying. Does anyone have the link?

Thanks :D

The ability score thing may be off by a bit, it seems like everyone who takes the test ends up with a point buy score in the 30s.

Must be all the beef hormones.

yeh, the ability scores questions are in some cases not the ones I would use, for example I would not ask about running a mile in 7 min 30 seconds to find con as it is realy more a question of str in D&D terms, the question should have been more like "can you run several miles without stwopping or slowing down"

as for wisdom and charisma, I have no idea how some of those questions are ment to grade those things.

Someone should make a test where, at the end always spits out the results of "You are a Human Commoner. Your abilities scores are 10, 11, 11, 10, 11, 10."

So far, everyone that i have gamed with for the past 3 years has taken the test (about 40 people-I owned a store and promoted "game night 4 days a week).

I have seen anywhere between 12-55 point buy people.

Strength test needs to be reworked, benchpress isn't really an accurate test for str (power clean and press is what the books define as your carrying capacity)

Some people have cheated and fudged their scores (lying on the charisma part is most common from what I've seen).

All in all, I like the test. My fellow gamers and I use it and have many campaigns based on ourselves. We even came up with a level system (which used to be on the 20modern boards.

Hmm, much different than I would have expected...

Human Neutral Neutral Fighter with a

Str 13
Int 14
Wis 12
Dex 16
Cons 15
Cha 17

Not quite what I had in mind. I thought I'd have higher Int. scores and lower physical scores, much less lower Charisma scores.

I probably would not make the best Wizard or Cleric.

You know, I've noticed that everyone who ends up as a rogue, kind of expected to get that. I think us rogue types just answer the questions more truthfully than the rest of you. (Ironic, since we're probably the best at deceiving others.) I personally liked the character test and the results I got. I would've been happy with a 17 or 18 on INT, and if I actually knew how much I could bench press, I'd probably go up a few on STR...I hope. Anyway...

Thing is, not everyone is a Commoner that is completely average in all aspects. In fact, that would be pretty rare.

Someone should make a test where, at the end always spits out the results of "You are a Human Commoner. Your abilities scores are 10, 11, 11, 10, 11, 10."That would be stupid, because most people are not average in all respects.

I got 10, 17, 13, 14, 11, 18. I'm also now a NE human sorcerer.

Okay-- I just figured out how to get my stats.

Yikes!!!

STR:2

CON:6

My strength is low because I can't do any of the things they asked me to. My CON is low because I'm in dialysis right now. I thought I was wiser... maybe I'm just wiser than those around me.

You mean to tell me that everyone is so equal that our D&D stats shouldn't diverge from a set point-buy ammount? Look, everybondy is equal, but some are more equal than others. It has nothing to do with the online test's accuacy.

My scores are:

Dex: 15

I'll second that . . . sort of.

I scored a 17 Intelligence, which was my high stat. Characters with stats that high are superhuman, so in that respect, I'm guessing this is overly generous, and thus "inaccurate." However, I bet the algorithm is designed to translate these scores for a realistic human, so a 17 means that I'm high on the human scale, but I'm hardly capable of casting 9th level arcane spells (assuming they're real). :)

So, I have a 17 and Fred Snerd as a 6. How does this translate to the D&D universe? Most likely, I'm capped at an 11, and Fred is an 8 or 9. The difference between Fred and me is much smaller when compared to the super-human adventurers running around that universe.

I'm still a gnome, though, so what do I know?

You honestly think that a 17 is superhuman? You know people with stats higher than 17, unless you are a loner and the people you know don't even number in the dozens. One person in 36 has an 18 in one of their stats, that's not superhuman, it's just good.

That's the way that D&D characters' abilities are supposed to be interpreted. If I, and so many others, really had a 17 intelligence, high level wizards would be a dime a dozen here in the real world. What's so special about an adventurer, then? By assumption, D&D PCs are "superhuman," by which I mean extraordinary beyond what the average person could hope to be. Everyone on this board is, most likely, average, yet we all have 17's? Not likely.

You realize that there are no wizards in the real world because magic doesn't exist right?

An adventurer is not special because of high stats, it's because he is a member of a PC class.
Also, you do realize that they get a higher powered rolling method and are as thus more likely than most people to have high stats right?
