hlnovice 05-08-06, 11:40 AM	Here's my problems, if my druid cast cure medium wounds for 2d8+3 when mounted on his animal companion. Can they both (druid and his animal) receive cure 2d8+3 of HP? The same goes with bull's strength, can they both gain the +4 enhancement bonus to Strength? I am asking cause I was reading up on the familiars on the WoTC (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20050913a) and i stumble on this paragraph: In spite of the foregoing, some aspects of the master and familiar always remain distinct. The master and familiar have two separate pools of hit points. If the master casts a cure wounds spell, the hit points bestowed must go either to the master or to the familiar. If points are left over after the chosen recipient reaches full hit points, the excess can go to the other pool. In a similar fashion, the master and familiar both have their own ability scores, and magic that enhances or improves an ability score must all go to either the master or the familiar. Can someone clear this issue for me! Thanks :)
Kheti sa-Menik 05-08-06, 04:51 PM	Here's the thing: An animal companion is NOT a familiar. They don't follow the same rules or have the same abilities. You would need to look specifically at the animal companion's description in the PHB, under the ranger or the druid; and not at the wizard/sorc's familiar.
