Xelloss 04-15-04, 11:47 PM	As far as stats on the animal look in the monster manual, preferably in the back, for the animal you want. If you cant find the animal your looking for use the stats of another animal that closely resembles what your looking for. As for rules about commanding and directing your animal id suggest reading the skill rules on the skill Handle animal in the PHB, also you might want to read the Animal Companions side bar on pg 46 of the DMG if you want information for 3rd edition. Usually with a trained animal it requires a handle animal check DC 10 to successfully command an animal usually taking anywhere from a free action to a move equivalent action. Also as a side note in my opinion the 3.5 PHB has more detailed information on using an animal companion. So if you happen to have a copy id suggest that you use its rules(which aren’t really different so much as better explained).
