| Rixarn10-03-05, 10:13 PM | Do you know bout any program, free or not that i can use to play PenNPaper DnD by web with my friends? I know this has been asked before, but cant find the "search" button to search the entire forums for a topic like this, Sorry :( thanks :) |
| OctoberRaven10-03-05, 10:14 PM | AIM, if you don't mind not having any maps. It's free, and has a built-in dice rolling engine. |
| Knucklehead10-03-05, 10:34 PM | What is AIM? |
| jik10-03-05, 10:35 PM | AIM is AOL Instant Messanger. Very useful. |
| Knucklehead10-03-05, 10:41 PM | You know that's what I thought it was until the "built-in dice roller" comment. Thanks for the clarity. :D |
| Surgo10-03-05, 10:43 PM | IRC. Pick up any IRC client (like mIRC (google it, or just IRC)); there are mountains of different reliable networks out there. A simple dice script and online miniatures program later, and you're good to go. |
| Malachi_III10-03-05, 10:52 PM | AIM, if you don't mind not having any maps. It's free, and has a built-in dice rolling engine. Yeah, i use aim alot of the time too, but i keep forgeting the command to roll the dice. Can anyone tell me? |

| Flakster10-03-05, 11:14 PM | MSN Messenger is just dandy too. There is a dice rolling plugin for it out there in the web, I found it once, but have since lost it. Also, you can use the built in whiteboard program for the map. It should work great, of course, I have yet to put together a group to play online. |
| tariff10-03-05, 11:21 PM | http://www.kloogeinc.com/ This is the one i use, it does cost, but it rocks. |
| LordHell10-03-05, 11:37 PM | I've tried Kloogewerks, IRC, Aim, MSN, and fantasy grounds. All of them worked relatively well for online gaming. Then I found openRPG, and never looked back. http://www.openrpg.com It's a little fiddly at first, and it's not very user friendly, but once you've sorted it out it blows everything else out of the water - and it's free. Edit: Fixed Link. Honestly, how hard is it just to copy/paste into a web browser? |
| Trevor Goodchild10-03-05, 11:56 PM | And nonexistant, according to your link. |
| Edymnion10-04-05, 12:42 AM | Check my sig for the link to Roleplay Online. Best damn site for playing online D&D on the planet. |
| strenoth10-04-05, 12:48 AM | I second what Edy said :) |
| Surgo10-04-05, 12:09 PM | OpenRPG was ****, is ****, and probably always will be **** judging by the status of OpenRPG 2, which has remained "vaporware" for at least the past year. |
| TheYeti177510-04-05, 03:16 PM | I use Fantasy Grounds. It costs but I like it, and so do my many groups I participate in. www.fantasygrounds.com Yeti |
| Ramza0Tyr10-04-05, 08:01 PM | I use Fantasy Grounds. It costs but I like it, and so do my many groups I participate in. www.fantasygrounds.com Yeti Second. More information. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=7348806&postcount=6) Later. Ramza |

| Thosar Lueque10-18-05, 10:17 PM | I have heard, but haven't yet tired, a Java app called Game Table that can be downloaded >>HERE<< (http://gametable.galactanet.com/) . It's basically an infinite-sized map (looks like the normal erasable combat map) that can be networked so players across the Internet can see it. Combine this with a VoIP (Voice Over IP) service such as >>Skype<< (http://www.skype.com/) or >>Ventrilo<< (http://www.ventrilo.com/) so everyone can talk to each other and you're in business. (Skype is free and Ventrilo can be free but also has a paid version.) Hope that helps. -TL |
