| truthinmadness03-09-07, 11:50 PM | I am starting to gear up for a campaign that will lead up to RHoD and am looking for some lower level adventure ideas. I have SotHH and have looked over Slaughtergarde, I like both so far. However, I've been meaning to look over some of the DCCs, but I just haven't got a chance yet. Thought I'ld see if anyone here had anything good OR bad to say about them. |
| Lawz42003-10-07, 11:23 AM | Most of the DCC's are well written adventures when it comes to incorporating them into slaughterguarde I decided against it untill after the party is done the armorey and pc's are around level 7-8 At that point I plan on running dcc #34 to see how incorporating music set for the adventure works out. DCC # 29 wouyld be a good suggestion otherwise starting with a dcc into slaughterguarde may make the pc's too powerful ( SGOS should start at 1st level) I let my party go through so minor adventuring before SGOS and had to up the encounters accordingly. Long and short adjust a hook from dcc 29 to kick start RHOD |

They're great if you're looking for something old school and they're also good for new DMs. I have a friend who's not into the role play as much as he is the hack and slash so this is what we lean towards. They also now have a campaign setting that ties them all together (might be DCC #36, I'll have to check). Gazetter of the Known Realms. On top of that, you can download them all at RPGnow.com for like six or seven bucks. Good bargain. Dungeon Master http://www.dungeonsdragonsblog.com |

| Caligula03-17-07, 06:13 PM | I might catch some flak for this, but I would say the DCC-series are pretty average. I hope it doesn't come out to harsh now, but I would recommend you to take alook at www.necromancergames.com before you decide to buy any adventures elsewhere. The Necromancer Games adventures that I have played and bought thus far are of exceptional quality. And they all have extensive electronic enhancements that you can download for free at their website, such as: illustrations, maps, key NPCs, battlegrids, etc. Several of their adventures are among the best I have ever played. "The Vault of Larin Karr" is second to none! "The Crucible of Freya" is awesome and I used it before "Sons of Gruumsh", which was my prelude to RHoD. Good luck finding nice adventures! :) |
| Chairman7w03-17-07, 11:58 PM | Nah, no flak Caligula. If everybody liked the same thing there'd only be one adventure. :) Necromancer games adventures are indeed fun. Rappan Athuk is a meat grinder but very fun! |
| John Paul Stoddard03-18-07, 02:38 AM | And Goodman Games has Maps made by Dundjinni users for free on thier site. As we speak more maps are being offered for free as they get completed. Maybe someday WOTC will enbrace their customer support and enbrace Dundjinni like Goodman Games has. |
