| MCage08-04-07, 05:56 PM | Yes i use cityscape, its alright. Id say if you got money to spare go for it but if your only looking to buy those few books that are worth every penny leave it on the shelf. get complete scoundrel or MMV both of which IMHO stand out as the best books printed this year. |
| Ebonarc08-04-07, 06:45 PM | I have Cityscape, though I haven't gotten to use it yet (no active campaigns, currently). Some of the prestige classes look good (for villains and their lackeys), but the spells won't see much use unless the city guard is real strict about carrying weapons, since concealing them is the focus of waaaayyy too many of the spells in that book. |
| TyWebb08-05-07, 02:34 AM | The Book of Challenges is...meh. I got a couple of ideas from it, but changed them so much that they were virtually unrecognizable from the original source. Save your money on that one...heck, there are better ideas floating around on these boards. All this, of course, is opinion....YMMV, etc. |
| Sijal08-05-07, 07:52 AM | Book of challenges sucks. I was a tester for it, and we sent in so much on that book that apparently they said forget what the testers think, we'll just print it as is. Yeah..... Only thing good about that book was that My name is in the back. |

Only thing good about that book was that My name is in the back. Thats funny. You bash your boss! And then are proud that your name is on it and you had nothing to do with it.. lol or are you being conceited? haha.. Im teasing. I bought Cityscape. Im really picky when it comes to books. You are better off to read it while in the bookstore, take the few good ideas and run. Its not worth every penny. Leave it on the shelf. I bought Cityscape looking for solutions, instead all they did was ask the same questions I had. I guess they were trying to inspire inspiration. In my eyes they took more short cuts to make more money. Which ticks me off. Why cant these guys do their job right? I wasn't %100 pleased with Draconomicon either. The writers are sloppy. It could've covered more details. Thanks The Ranting Captain |
