Anyone else in this situation? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-11-04, 03:02 PM Anyone else like me out there? No other players, no DMs, and the bookstores/hobby shops don't sell even the core books. Honestly, this IS the situation i'm in, living in a remote country (Norway), playing with the SRD. Not to mention, how would you deal with such a situation? Keep in mind that i'm talking about a place so far from civilization that most people (the ones I haven't told what it is, 99,5% according to my calculations) don't even know what D&D is.:( :( :( :weep:

But even if you can't play you can work on rules and stuff till you find a group.

Hell I have only played like 3 games online (I DMed one of them too ^_^).

The first one I was killed off in the first battle
The 2ent the DM gave up after the 5th meeting
and the one I DMed one of the players had to leave so we had to stop.

So I have not had a lot of luck in playing but I still hang in there and work on my stuff here.

So never give up hope and just keep going ^_^

05-11-04, 03:32 PM Check out ENWorld and the dnd3e chatroom there. There are more than a few Norway players there, who can probably hook you up.

05-11-04, 10:23 PM I never realized how fortunate I am, but I pretty much got into DnD at the same time my best friend did (cause my cousin was a hardcore DnD nut at our age, hes like 13 years our senior). Now he, my cuz, has moved on to better things, like the military, though i think he was in a group for a little bit with his friends.

Meanwhile, me and my best friend got one of our other best friends really into it and he still plays with us. We tried with our two other friends, who liked it a little at first but refuse to play because of probably the stigma associated. Or they don't like sitting around a table till 3 AM high off Moutain Dew and doritos, throwing dice at a table.
